2024 Lake County Right to Life Oratory Contest

It's time once again for the 2024 Lake County Right to Life Oratory Contest! This is an opportunity to apply your critical thinking and both written and oral communications skills to win a prize, while expressing your views about one of a variety of topics regarding the Sanctity of Life issue:

  • Abortion
  • Infanticide
  • Embryonic Stem Cell Research
  • Sex-selective Abortion
  • Euthanasia

Last year’s Lake County winner went on to win the Indiana Right to Life State Oratory Contest and won, in addition to the prize money, a trip to compete in the National Right to Life Oratory Contest in Pittsburgh, PA during the National Right to Life Convention.

FIRST PLACE

$250 to student & $250 to teacher/coach

 SECOND PLACE

$150 to student & $150 to teacher/coach

 THIRD PLACE

$100 to student & $100 to teacher/coach

The contest date for 2024 is scheduled for March 23rd, with applications and speeches due by February 19th.

Note to teachers & homeschoolers: This has been used in the past by participating teachers and homeschoolers as an excellent activity to enrich lesson plans and provide a scholastically rich opportunity to your school and students.
